Some teachers just teach. And then there are the ones who actually see you — who notice something you didn't know about yourself and point you toward it. A mentor who gives you real feedback, opens a door, or says the thing you needed to hear.
Those people deserve more than a gift card.
What to say to them
Be specific about what they actually did. Not 'you were a great teacher.' The lesson that stuck. The feedback that changed how you work. The moment you realized they had given you something you'd carry for a long time.
Then tell them where you are now. Teachers and mentors often don't get to see the downstream effects of what they did. Telling them is a gift in itself.
What to give
A personalized page works especially well here because it's clearly not a purchased thing. It's something you sat down and made, using their actual impact as the content.
If they're a teacher you had years ago and want to reach back out to: the page can function as both the outreach and the thank-you. A link is lower-stakes than a letter, easier to respond to, and lands with the same weight.
